Conley, Georgia: Pushing the Boundaries of Precast Concrete Since 1986

Since 1986, the Tindall team in Conley, Georgia has been reimagining the possibilities of precast concrete construction, breaking into new markets, and delivering never-before-seen solutions that have helped reshape the perception of precast throughout the construction industry. From luxury parking decks with rooftop pool amenities to unprecedented mixed-use designs, our Georgia team has consistently provided highly engineered precast solutions to the kinds of challenges that others might have called impossible.

“Nothing gets our team more excited than when a customer asks, ‘Can this even be done with precast concrete?’” said Isaac Perkins, Vice President and General Manager of Tindall Building Systems — Georgia Division. “While we have a habit of treating every project as if it’s our top priority, we live for the kinds of complex challenges that let us deliver truly innovative precast building system solutions.”

Today, our Georgia Division specializes in delivering extraordinary structures in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing facilities, mixed-use complexes, commercial buildings, and correctional institutions. Come see how our Georgia Division got its start and discover some of the many iconic and custom precast projects that continue to help set Tindall apart.

Expanding to Conley, Georgia

Nearly forty years ago, Tindall opened its second PCI-certified precast concrete manufacturing facility in Conley, Georgia. From the very beginning, the sprawling 48-acre Georgia facility featured 118,000 square feet of covered precast production areas, as well as an additional 59,000 square feet of uncovered space.

Back then, we had no way of knowing that our Conley location would be the first of many new Tindall precast manufacturing facilities across the Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern, and South-Central U.S. What we did know was that a second facility would dramatically increase our team’s capacity and ability to meet our customers’ needs throughout the region. We also knew the precast concrete industry was changing.

A New Era of Precast Innovation

By the time our Georgia facility opened its doors in the mid ‘80s, requests for custom solutions and innovative ideas were increasing at a dramatic pace. It was a new era of precast concrete, one which demanded manufacturers to think outside the box and explore new solutions to brand-new markets. While some precast manufacturers remained content to deliver stock products, we refocused our efforts on precast innovation in order to meet our customers’ unique needs.

“That same innovative spirit that was present in this facility back in 1986 continues to drive us today,” said Perkins, who joined the Georgia Division as Vice President and General Manager in 2022. “You can see it clearly in our modular precast cells for correctional facilities, as well as our bulb tee products.”

Exploring New Possibilities for Precast Concrete

Since the 2000s, the Tindall team in Conley, Georgia has produced a wide range of noteworthy projects in an equally diverse array of industries, including award-winning total precast office buildings, modern breweries, and architecturally driven medical structures.

The Georgia Division’s portfolio of precast projects includes:

  • Commercial buildings
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Correctional institutions

  • And more

Project Highlights

ICON Buckhead Parking Garage

This 11-story, 211,000-square-foot parking deck was developed to serve the 35-story luxury apartment tower, ICON Buckhead. The parking deck features an expansive rooftop pool deck and amenities area, transforming a required feature of apartment living into an unforgettable space for residents.

The District at Howell Mill

This unprecedented, 435,000-square-foot mixed-use structure features three levels of parking, five stories, and seven independent structures on just nine acres. How is that possible? By stacking structures on top of each other.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institute

For this 62,000-square-foot correctional facility, Tindall converted the original concrete block construction plans to a total precast design. The resulting structure leveraged Tindall’s precast cell modules and systems, resulting in 360 safe, secure new cells.

The Future of the Georgia Division

Today, Tindall Building Systems’ Georgia Division stands as a testament to the innovative spirit that’s helped drive Tindall forward since 1963. Even after nearly 40 years of serving the Southeast with breakthrough precast solutions, Perkins says his team is just getting started.

“It’s an honor to work with such a talented team,” says Perkins. “At Tindall, we always approach new challenges as opportunities to push ourselves. After seeing what this division has accomplished over the last decade, I can’t wait to see what we do next. It’s safe to say we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible.”
